What if there is an emergency in Nauvoo?
If needed, we will contact your parents (that’s why we ask for their contact information on the registration forms).
What if I get sick or hurt?
Just like at Girls or Scout Camp, we will have trained medical personnel with us to handle any minor issues that come up. If something more serious happens, they will get help from the local health services, and if necessary, contact your parents.
What if I take prescription medications?
There is a place on the medical form (see below) to indicate any prescription medications you are taking. Our medical personnel will dispense all medication during the trip. They will collect the medication before we leave Columbus, and keep it safe during the trip. You will be responsible to come get your medication from the nurse at the appropriate times. Adults will be responsible for their own medications.
What if I need non-prescription medication during the trip?
The nurse is responsible for dispensing all medication and will have a supply of common non-prescription medication available. There is a place on the medical form for your parents to indicate which medications you can be given. If you need something that’s not on the list, bring it with you and give it to the nurse when you check in.
What if I have a food allergy?
You need to indicate any known allergies – food or otherwise - on your medical form. We will use that information to make sure we have food that you can eat. If for some reason you have an allergic reaction on the trip, you will receive appropriate medical attention.
Will I be covered by the church's activity insurance while I'm this on trip?
Yes, but… the church insurance program only provides secondary coverage that is designed to supplement, not replace, your own health and accident insurance.
Is there a Medical Release?
Yes, download it here. Make sure that you fill it out, print it, and give it to a leader when the young men and women arrive at the stake center.
